The same US number means different things: US 8 is EU 40 in menswear but EU 37 in womenswear.
Frequently asked questions
How are the sizes derived?
The chart is anchored on foot length in millimetres, from 225 mm to 280 mm in 5 mm steps. EU = 35 + (length − 225) / 5, JP is the length in centimetres to one decimal, and the CN and KR sizes are simply the foot length in millimetres (for example 250).
Why does the same number differ for men and women?
Because US and UK sizes are listed separately by gender: US 8 menswear is 250 mm (EU 40), while US 8 womenswear is only 235 mm (EU 37). Picking the wrong type gives a plausible answer that is two or three sizes off.
How should I measure my foot?
Measure in the evening, when feet are slightly larger; stand with the heel against a wall and measure to the longest toe in millimetres. Add 5–10 mm of room when choosing, and this tool rounds to the nearest 5 mm band.
What if a shop’s chart disagrees?
Follow the shop. Athletic shoes, formal shoes and boots use different lasts, so the same nominal size can differ by more than 5 mm. This chart gives common reference values to narrow down a size, not a final answer.
