Chinese numerals, Chinese capitals, the financial amount and English words are produced at once — copy any row.

Chinese capitals壹佰贰拾叁
Financial amount壹佰贰拾叁元整
English cardinalone hundred twenty-three
English ordinalone hundred twenty-third
Ordinal suffix123rd

What this tool does

  • Write the financial capital form of an amount — 123.45 becomes 壹佰贰拾叁元肆角伍分 — when filling in cheques, invoices or reimbursement forms in Chinese.
  • Read a number out loud in English, for example 1005 as one thousand five and 21 as twenty-first, without second-guessing the hyphens.
  • Check where the Chinese zero goes: 1005 is 一千零五 and not 一千五, and 100000005 is 一亿零五.
  • Use the digit-by-digit reading for order codes and verification codes, so 123 is spelled one two three instead of one hundred twenty-three.

Example

Input

123

Output

Chinese numerals: 一百二十三
Chinese capitals: 壹佰贰拾叁
Financial amount: 壹佰贰拾叁元整
English cardinal: one hundred twenty-three
English ordinal: one hundred twenty-third
Ordinal suffix: 123rd

The default English reading omits “and”; enable it to get one thousand and five for 1005. The amount row rounds the third decimal place half up.

Frequently asked questions

Why is 1005 read as 一千零五 in Chinese?

The character 零 marks an empty place: it says the hundreds and tens positions are zero. Dropping it would turn the number into 1500. This tool works in groups of four digits, writes a single 零 for consecutive zeros, and adds one when a lower group is shorter than four digits, so 10005 becomes 一万零五.

Do very long numbers lose precision?

No. The integer part is processed as a string, never through JavaScript’s Number type, so 9007199254740993 — well past the safe integer range — is still spelled correctly. English words stop at decillion (10^33), beyond which there is no scale name.

How are the Chinese jiao and fen handled?

The third decimal place is rounded half up and may carry into the whole yuan (1.999 → 贰元整). When jiao is 0 but fen is not, a 零 is inserted: 123.05 becomes 壹佰贰拾叁元零伍分. When fen is 0 the result ends with 角整, so 123.5 becomes 壹佰贰拾叁元伍角整.

Should the English reading include “and”?

British English inserts and between the hundreds and the tens (one hundred and five) while American English does not (one hundred five). The default follows the American style; turn on “Add and” to get one thousand and five for 1005.

Are decimals and negatives supported?

Yes. Decimals are read digit by digit — 3.14 becomes 三点一四 and three point one four — and negatives get the 负 / minus prefix. Ordinals only make sense for whole numbers, so the two ordinal rows show “not applicable” for decimals. Scientific notation such as 1e3 is rejected; write 1000 instead.
