Zodiac compatibility

Pick two signs to see a compatibility score: the number comes from a 12×12 table built on the four elements and three modalities, with a breakdown of how the elements and modalities relate. For entertainment only.

Rule: element score × 0.65 + modality score × 0.35. Elements — same 88, fire/air and earth/water 82, fire/earth and air/water 62, fire/water and air/earth 58. Modalities — same 84, cardinal/mutable 80, fixed/mutable 76, cardinal/fixed 72.

What this tool does

  • A party game: pick two signs and get a 0–100 score with a one-line reading.
  • See why people say Aries matches Leo — the element and modality rows show exactly how the number was produced.
  • Source material for horoscope writing: sign names plus element and modality labels in both languages.
  • Reverse lookup: if you only remember a birth date (say 6 August), confirm whether you are a Leo or a Virgo.

Example

Input

First sign: Aries; second sign: Leo

Output

Total 82, overall “A very easy match”; element score 88 (same fire element), modality score 72 (cardinal with fixed — neither likes to yield first)

Swapping the two signs does not change the result: the score depends only on elements and modalities, so the matrix is symmetric.

Frequently asked questions

How is the score calculated?

Elements first: same 88, fire/air and earth/water 82, fire/earth and air/water 62, fire/water and air/earth 58. Then modalities: same 84, cardinal/mutable 80, fixed/mutable 76, cardinal/fixed 72. The total weights elements at 65% and modalities at 35%, rounds, and fills a symmetric 12×12 table.

Why is the same sign not a perfect score?

Because the score is only a weighted combination of element and modality. A sign paired with itself already tops the table at 87. The headroom is deliberate — no pairing here claims to be “scientifically perfect”.

Which date ranges do the signs use?

The common convention: Aries 21 March–19 April, Taurus 20 April–20 May and so on through Pisces 19 February–20 March. Sources differ slightly on cusp days (and precession complicates it), so the tool presents them as a reference convention.

Can I use this as relationship advice?

No. The score turns two rule sets — elements and modalities — into a number. It is entertainment, not psychology, and not relationship advice.

Does it upload my sign data?

No. Everything is computed locally in the browser, the page makes no requests, and a refresh clears it.
