Word typing game
A falling-word typing game: type each word before it reaches the bottom, clear it for points and level up as your score grows, with lives, difficulty settings and everything running locally.
Runs in your browserEvery computation happens in your browser — your data never leaves this device.
Game settings
Pick a difficulty and press start, then type each falling word in full before it reaches the bottom — a correct word clears it and scores points.
Harder levels fall faster and use longer words. Points are a base score plus word length, multiplied by the difficulty, and every 100 points is a new level.
Status
Press start and words begin to fall. Type one in full to clear it; every word that reaches the bottom costs a life.
What this tool does
- Turn typing practice into a game: words keep falling, which forces you to look at the screen instead of the keyboard.
- Learn developer vocabulary — the medium pool is full of words like keyboard, browser and compiler.
- Take a two minute break that still exercises your fingers instead of scrolling a feed.
- Compare scores with a friend at the same difficulty: fewer misses wins.
Example
Input
Easy difficulty, clear the word cat (three letters)
Output
Score +16 (base 10 plus 3 × 2 for length, times the easy multiplier of 1), cleared 1, missed 0, level 1
A word that reaches the bottom costs one life, and the run ends when the three starting lives are gone. Difficulty multipliers: easy 1, medium 1.5, hard 2.
Frequently asked questions
The words fall too fast — what should I do?
Start on easy: words fall at 7% per second, so a three letter word takes about 14 seconds to cross the board. Move up to medium (10% per second) and hard (13%) once the rhythm feels comfortable.
What happens if I type the wrong thing?
When the input is not a prefix of any falling word you get a "no word matches" hint, but no penalty — only a word reaching the bottom costs a life. So an unfamiliar word can simply be let through.
How is the score calculated?
Each word is worth 10 plus twice its length, multiplied by the difficulty (easy 1, medium 1.5, hard 2). Every 100 points is a new level; the level is display only, the speed comes from the difficulty.
Is the game data saved or uploaded?
No. The word pool, positions and score are computed in browser memory, the page makes no requests, and a refresh resets everything.
