What this tool does

  • Start blind typing from the home row: the beginner lessons only use the asdf jkl; row so your fingers learn one place first.
  • Move on to punctuation and capitals with the intermediate passages, which are real sentences rather than random letters.
  • Train digits and symbols with the advanced lessons: amounts, dates and code snippets suit finance and developer work.
  • Review your mistakes: the mistake list tells you which character index was wrong and what you typed instead, which reveals habits that a single accuracy number hides.

Example

Input

Beginner lesson b1 (asdf jkl; asdf jkl; fjfj dkdk slsl a;a;), 40 characters typed in 12 seconds with one mistake

Output

Accuracy 97.44%, WPM 6.5, 40 characters typed, grade Good, mistake at character 3: expected "d", got "X"

Grading looks at accuracy first: 97.44% sits between 95% and 98%, so it is Good rather than Excellent no matter how fast the run was.

Frequently asked questions

How is this different from the typing speed test?

The speed test measures you on a random timed passage; practice gives you fixed, graded lessons and focuses on finding and fixing mistakes. Use practice to push accuracy above 98%, then check the speed test for progress.

Why does my accuracy stay flat?

Usually because you backspace over mistakes immediately, which hides the pattern. List the mistakes instead, see which keys you keep missing (e/i, o/p and punctuation are common) and drill that row on its own — speed follows accuracy.

Do extra characters count as mistakes?

Yes. Characters typed past the end of the lesson are counted as errors because in real typing they still cost a backspace. The tool warns you when the input is too long, and both accuracy and WPM drop.

Are practice results stored?

No. The lessons are built in, the scores live in the page memory only, a refresh clears them, and nothing you type is uploaded.
