What this tool does
- Search by title, poet or line: entering 明月 lists every poem containing it and marks the matching lines.
- Filter by form (five-character quatrain, seven-character quatrain, regulated verse, yuefu, ancient style) and by poet for lesson prep or source checking.
- Take the first N poems in collection order, or draw one with a fixed seed for a poem-a-day routine.
- Copy the formatted "title · poet (dynasty · form) + lines" text straight into your notes.

The query matches titles, poets and lines alike; matching lines are listed separately and the last line reports library size, matches and character count.
Frequently asked questions
Does this include all 310 poems of the Three Hundred Tang Poems anthology?
No. The library holds 85 poems: mainly pieces from the widely used Hengtang Tuishi anthology, plus a further set of well-known poems outside it that stay in school textbooks or are widely recited (Li Shen, He Zhizhang, Luo Yin). The scope is "popular anthology plus widely circulated poems", not completeness.
Is the text verbatim, or is it paraphrased?
Every line is copied verbatim from the common edition — no translation, no rewriting, no generated text. Poems marked (节选) such as 将进酒(节选) contain only the opening lines, never padded out.
Different editions use different characters. Which one is used?
Tang poems do have textual variants, e.g. 春草明年绿 versus 春草年年绿. This tool follows the common anthology and textbook reading and does not merge or double-print variants; for textual criticism use a printed edition or a scholarly database.
Can a random draw be reproduced?
Yes. Random draws use a built-in seeded mulberry32 PRNG and the result reports the seed used (default 20261012); the same seed always yields the same poem.
How is the character count calculated?
Only Chinese characters of the matched poems are counted — punctuation, titles and poet names are excluded, so a five-character quatrain counts as 20 characters. The result also reports the library size (85) and the number of matches.
