QR code generator
Generate QR codes entirely in your browser: text or URLs, L/M/Q/H error correction, size, quiet zone and colors, live preview plus SVG and PNG export, with a capacity warning when the payload is too long.

L ≈ 7% · M ≈ 15% · Q ≈ 25% · H ≈ 30% — higher levels survive more damage but hold less data

What this tool does
- Turn a URL, WeChat ID, Wi-Fi password or any text into a QR code for a poster, business card or slide — scan and go.
- For event check-in links with parameters, pick error correction H so the code still scans when the print is scuffed or pasted at an angle.
- Export SVG when you need a vector: it stays sharp at any print size and you can restyle foreground and background without regenerating.
- Watch the capacity meter before printing: a warning appears near the limit so you do not discover an unscannable code after the print run.
Example
Input
https://unikit.cc (error correction M)
Output
18 UTF-8 bytes, 0.8% of the 2331-byte limit; estimated minimum version 10; the generated SVG has a 33 × 33 module viewBox including a 4-module quiet zone, so 25 modules of data
Capacity is measured in UTF-8 bytes against the version 40 byte-mode limit (2331 bytes at level M); module count is the viewBox side minus the quiet zone on both sides.
Frequently asked questions
Which error correction level should I pick?
L tolerates about 7% damage, M about 15%, Q about 25% and H about 30%. Higher levels survive more wear but need more modules for the same payload. M is fine for screens; use Q or H for print and outdoor stickers.
What does a size of 0 mean?
It means the output size is derived from the module count — the SVG carries no width/height and the container decides how big it renders. Entering pixels (up to 2048) fixes the size, and a small size combined with high error correction can blur modules together.
Can the quiet zone be 0?
Technically yes, but strongly discouraged. The quiet zone is the blank margin around the code and the spec asks for at least 4 modules; without it scanners fail far more often. The allowed range is 0–32 modules.
Can I use any foreground and background color?
Colors must be #RGB or #RRGGBB and the contrast has to be strong enough for scanners. Light foreground on a dark background fails on some older devices, so test with a real phone before shipping.
What if my content is too long?
Each error correction level has a byte ceiling (2331 bytes at M) and going past it reports the limit explicitly. Shorten the text, lower the level or use a short link — and remember Chinese characters take about 3 UTF-8 bytes each.
