List to text
Join a list into a single string with the separator you choose — comma, space, semicolon, pipe, newline or a custom one — with optional single, double or backtick quoting plus dedupe and code-point sorting, and counts for items, removed duplicates and characters.

What this tool does
- Join a column of values into one line for query parameters, URLs or a SQL IN list without typing commas by hand.
- Wrap every item in quotes for a CSV row, a Markdown line or a log field so a stray separator cannot break the record.
- Combine dedupe and sorting to turn a messy pasted list into one stable line you can diff.
Example
Input
apple banana cherry
Output
apple banana cherry
Comma is the default join; switching to space, semicolon, pipe, newline or a custom separator only changes one dropdown.
Frequently asked questions
How do I put a newline in the separator?
Pick “Newline” from the dropdown; with “Custom” you can type \n for a newline or \t for a tab and the tool resolves them into real characters.
What if the items already contain commas?
Joining does not escape anything, so an item like a,b is indistinguishable from the comma separator. Wrap every item in double quotes, or pick a separator that never appears in your data.
Do dedupe and sorting change the order?
Dedupe keeps the first occurrence; only “Sort output” reorders by Unicode code point. With both on, items are deduped in the original order and then sorted as a whole.
How many items can it handle?
200,000. Beyond that it reports an error, because joining runs on the browser main thread and a huge input would freeze the page.
