What this tool does
- Clean a list, log or data dump with a blacklist of items you want gone.
- Remove every line sharing a keyword with substring mode, e.g. all lines marked “test”.
- Handle whole families of lines with a regex, e.g. ^\d+$ for pure numbers.
Example
Input
apple pie banana apple
Output
banana
In substring mode one keyword removes every line containing it.
Frequently asked questions
Are multiple keywords AND or OR?
OR: a line is removed when any keyword matches. Keywords are comma-separated by default and the separator can be changed to a newline, tab and so on. For “must contain both”, use a regex such as (?=.*A)(?=.*B).
Can substring mode over-delete?
Yes — it is a plain substring match, so the keyword a also removes banana. Switch to regex mode and write ^a$ or \ba\b for short words.
Is the comparison case-sensitive?
Yes by default, so Apple and apple are different items. Turn on “Ignore case” to fold them in whole-item and substring mode; regex mode gets the i flag.
What happens if my regex is broken?
It reports an error immediately instead of writing half a result. Metacharacters are active, so a.b also matches a1b — use a\.b for a literal dot.
