GCP cost calculator

Estimate a monthly Google Cloud bill from an offline price list: Compute Engine machine hours, Cloud Storage volume and operations, Cloud SQL instance plus storage, and egress, itemised with a total.

Runs in your browserEvery computation happens in your browser — your data never leaves this device.

Compute Engine

On-demand instances, us-central1 reference prices; enter monthly hours, 730 for a full month.

Cloud Storage

Priced as Class A operations per 10,000; reads and writes are estimated together.

Cloud SQL

Network egress

The first 1 GB is free; anything above is billed per GB.

Cost estimate

Compute Engine · e2-small: $12.23
Cloud Storage · standard · 1000 GB: $20.00
Storage operations · 1000000 ops: $5.00
Cloud SQL instance · db-f1-micro: $10.95
Cloud SQL storage · 100 GiB: $17.00
Network egress · 99 GB: $11.88
Total: $77.06

The price list is a built-in constant (approximate public us-central1 rates captured 2026-10). The tool never queries the network and never uploads your usage.

What this tool does

  • Sizing a new service: an e2-small for a full month is about $12 — see instantly what switching to n2-standard-4 would cost.
  • Compare storage strategies: what the difference between standard and nearline is for 1 TB, so you can decide on lifecycle tiering with numbers.
  • Cloud SQL is a classic budget sink; enter the machine type and SSD size to see what share of the total the database takes.
  • When egress suddenly gets expensive, enter the GB and check whether traffic is what pushed the bill up.

Example

Input

e2-small for 730 hours; Cloud Storage standard 1000 GB + 1M operations; Cloud SQL db-f1-micro 730 hours + 100 GiB SSD; 100 GB egress

Output

Compute $12.23 + storage $20.00 + operations $5.00 + Cloud SQL instance $10.95 + Cloud SQL storage $17.00 + egress $11.88, total $77.06

Only the 99 GB above the free tier is billed for egress, and each line is rounded to whole cents before summing.

Frequently asked questions

How accurate are the prices, and does it query Google?

It never touches the network. The price list is a constant compiled into the tool from approximate public us-central1 rates captured in 2026-10 and labelled “reference prices — the official bill is authoritative”. Use it for ballparks and comparisons, not invoice reconciliation.

Why is there no floating point drift?

Unit prices are stored as integer milli-cents (1/1000 of a cent). The maths multiplies integers, divides by 1000 and rounds to whole cents, and the total is a plain integer sum. So 730 hours × 1.675 cents/hour is reliably 1223 cents ($12.23), never 1222.9999999.

What is left out?

Sustained use and committed use discounts, tax, cross-region or intercontinental traffic, snapshots and backups, Cloud Monitoring and logging, Cloud NAT, load balancing, and other products such as BigQuery. A real bill can end up lower (with discounts) or higher (with add-ons).

How are operations priced?

They follow the Class A convention of one charge per 10,000 operations, with the unit price held in the GCS_OPERATION_MILLI_CENTS constant. Reads (Class B) are usually cheaper than writes, so a single blended rate makes operation-heavy workloads slightly off.

What is the egress free tier?

Following the official free tier, the first 1 GB of egress per month is free and only the excess is billed. 1 GB costs nothing while 101 GB is billed as 100 GB. The allowance resets monthly and does not accumulate.
