What this tool does
- Collect every image URL from scraped HTML to check which assets bypass your CDN.
- Audit background images referenced in CSS or theme files for stale paths.
- Export all image links from Markdown docs before migrating to a new image host.
Example
Input
<img src="https://cdn.example.com/a.png">
.hero{background:url('/img/b.webp')}
Output
https://cdn.example.com/a.png /img/b.webp images/c.jpg
No HTML required: src attributes, CSS url() and Markdown image syntax are all matched; with deduplication the repeated a.png appears once.
Frequently asked questions
How is this different from the HTML image extractor?
This one does not parse tags; it finds image URLs by extension in any text, so CSS url(), Markdown image syntax and bare URLs in logs all match. Use the HTML image extractor when you need exact <img> src and srcset values.
Which extensions are recognised?
Nine by default: jpg, jpeg, png, gif, webp, svg, avif, bmp and ico. Add heic or jfif through “Extra extensions” as a comma-separated list without dots.
Is ?v=2 treated as part of the file name?
No. Anything after a question mark does not participate in the extension match, so a.png?v=2 is recognised as a.png. Tick “Strip query and hash” if the output should drop the query too.
What about paths containing spaces?
They are cut at the space. A space is a separator, so image%20one.png works fine, but a literal space cannot be told apart from layout spacing in plain text.
