Both the transaction fee and payment processing apply to price plus buyer-paid shipping, so shipping is taxed too. The $0.20 listing fee also applies to the auto-renewal after a sale.

What is the 6.5% transaction fee charged on?
On the order total: item price plus the shipping and gift-wrap the buyer pays. Shipping is not free of fees, it is also charged 6.5%, so include it in the base when you price.
Why does payment processing vary by region?
Etsy Payments processing fees depend on the country and currency of your payout account — about 3% + $0.25 in the US, 4% + £0.20 in the UK, 4% + €0.30 in the eurozone. The tool ships one tier per region and approximates the fixed fee in dollars; your invoice is authoritative.
How is Offsite Ads different from Etsy Ads?
Offsite Ads is charged only when an ad outside Etsy produces a sale, typically 15% of the order (12% for shops under the sales threshold). Etsy Ads is a cost-per-click product inside Etsy. Both are modelled here as an editable rate, so enter whichever you are evaluating.
What is the regulatory operating fee?
Some countries — the UK, France, Italy, Spain and Turkey among them — add roughly 0.25%–0.32% of the order value as a regulatory operating fee. It defaults to 0 here; enter the rate and it is included in the total.
Can I use the solved price as-is?
It is the minimum price at which the profit target is still met. Because each fee rounds to the cent the profit is not strictly monotonic, so the tool verifies cent by cent around the analytic solution and takes the smallest workable value — still worth leaving a little headroom.
