What this tool does

  • Price a new listing properly: add referral fee, FBA fulfillment, storage, ads and returns to see the real per-unit profit before you set a price.
  • Compare size and weight tiers for the same product and decide whether shrinking the packaging actually pays off.
  • Solve backwards from a target: enter the net profit you want and get the minimum price that delivers it.
  • Cross-check Seller Central: paste the numbers from your Fee Preview and compare them with your own estimate.

Example

Input

Price $29.99, most-categories referral fee 15% (minimum $0.30), large standard (1–1.25 lb) fulfillment $4.99, storage $0.20, product cost $8.00, inbound $1.00, ads $3.00, return cost $0.50, target net profit $10.00

Output

Referral fee $4.50, FBA fulfillment $4.99, storage $0.20, ad cost $3.00, return cost $0.50, total platform fees $13.19; net proceeds $16.80, total cost $22.19, net profit $7.80, margin 26.01%, ROI 35.15%; break-even price $20.81, price needed for the $10.00 target $32.58

All amounts are computed in integer cents and fees are rounded to the nearest cent. The solved price is the minimum that just hits the target, so leave yourself some headroom.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Amazon referral fee category specific?

Yes. Referral fees are tiered by category — 15% for most categories, about 8% for consumer electronics, about 17% for clothing — and most categories also have a $0.30 minimum. The table shipped here was compiled in 2026-10 from the public fee pages, and every field stays editable.

Why does the tool use fulfillment tiers instead of a weight formula?

The fulfillment fee depends on both the size band (small standard, large standard, oversize) and the weight band, and a small standard unit is much cheaper than a large standard unit at the same weight. The tiers give a fast estimate; the Fee Preview in Seller Central is authoritative.

How should I estimate storage fees?

The tool treats storage as an average monthly cost per unit, defaulting to the January–September standard-size rate. Peak-season (October–December) rates are often two to three times higher, so edit the field when you are planning a Q4 shipment.

Can I use the solved price directly?

It is the lower bound: the cheapest price at which the profit target is still met. Because referral fees round to the cent the tool corrects the answer down to the smallest workable price, but adding 5–10% of headroom is still wise.

Is my input uploaded anywhere?

No. Everything is computed locally in your browser, no request is sent, and a refresh clears the page.
