Frequently asked questions
Which words are lowercased?
Common prepositions, articles and coordinating conjunctions (e.g. of, the, and, to) are lowercased in the middle, but not at the first or last word.
Are hyphens preserved?
Yes. English parts on each side of a hyphen are formatted independently; separators remain unchanged.
What about acronyms and all-caps titles?
Runs of two or more uppercase letters and dotted abbreviations such as NASA, API and U.S. are preserved by default; middle small words still become lowercase. Turn preservation off to normalize all-caps titles.
Does this follow a specific style guide?
No. This uses a fixed small-word list, not grammatical analysis or special subtitle rules after colons. Each line is a separate title; first and last refer to English word parts. Only ASCII English words change, with internal apostrophes kept inside words. Review special proper-name spellings manually.
Is my input uploaded?
No. Conversion stays in your browser. Copy the result or clear the input; statistics count English word parts, with hyphenated parts counted separately.
