The range is inclusive of both end points. A make-up workday counts as a working day even when it falls on a weekend. Dates are whole calendar days, independent of the local time zone.

What this tool does
- Plan a schedule in working days: counting the range day by day and skipping weekends gives a far more realistic lead time than calendar days.
- Check a leave request or an invoice: put company holidays into “Custom holidays” and make-up weekend shifts into “Custom make-up workdays” to get the real number of working days.
- Work across regions: many Middle Eastern countries take Friday and Saturday off, so switch the weekend rule instead of rewriting any code.
- Work backwards to a deadline: in “Add or subtract N working days” mode enter 5 and get the exact date of the fifth working day.

Frequently asked questions
Which years does the built-in holiday table cover?
Only 2024 and 2025, taken from the State Council General Office holiday arrangements for those years. It is sample data and the page labels the source. For other years, fill in the custom holiday list or check the official notice.
Does the range include both end points?
Yes. 2024-02-08 to 2024-02-18 is 11 calendar days and each of them is classified. If you want the gap between two days rather than the number of working days inside a closed range, move the end date back by one day.
How are make-up weekend workdays handled?
List them under “Custom make-up workdays”, or enable the built-in sample table (the 2024 and 2025 make-up days are included). A weekend day on that list counts as a working day and is reported separately in the “Make-up workdays” row so you can verify it.
Where do I choose a weekend rule like Sunday only?
In the “Weekend rule” selector. Besides the default Saturday plus Sunday you can pick Sunday only, Saturday only, Friday plus Saturday, or no weekend at all so that every calendar day counts as a working day.
Which day does the add/subtract mode start from?
It starts from the start date and does not include it: entering 5 finds the fifth working day after it, and a negative number counts backwards. Weekends and holidays are skipped while make-up workdays are counted, so 2024-02-08 plus 2 working days (with the Spring Festival sample) lands on 2024-02-18.
